There’s traffic everywhere - on Google, social media, forums.
So why should you even buy those courses from "marketing gurus" when you can 100% get traffic without any money!
There’s billions of traffic on YouTube, millions of traffic on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and a few billion more on Facebook.
Can you imagine what that means for your website?
If you can funnel 10, 20, 30, or maybe even upwards of 50% of the traffic from those places to your website, we’re talking $$$ flowing to your online business.
But the big question is this:
How can you promote your website to these places on the internet, so you can get hundreds and thousands more traffic?
I have three simple steps for you.
Go to Quora, Answer Questions, Direct Them to Your Site.
Quora.com is a fast-growing Q and A site that people go to for nearly any topic under the sun.
They go there to post or answer questions about online dating or weight loss or dog training or digital marketing or some everyday topic they can think of.
It’s like the online library of questions and answers with millions of users all around the world.
And the best part, it’s got 300 million active users (and growing) in September 2018.
With so many people going on Quora, you can promote your website AFTER you get some good rep from users on there.
Say there’s someone who posted a question that’s super relevant to your niche.
Answer the question and add in “if you want a more comprehensive response to your question, here’s a link to my blog post that can help you out…”
Boom. Add in the link after giving the troubled Quora user your concise, clear, and straight to the point answer that can help him or her.
Chances are, that user will click on your link to learn more about the answer you have just shared.
And that’s not all. Other users can see your link and check it out, as well!
Search for Questions that You Can Answer
If you really want to help as many people as you can, then you can do some digging for questions you can answer.
Go to the search bar to type in a keyword related to your niche, hit search, and you’ll get results immediately.
Look for questions that you know a lot about, answer them, and always add a link to your content that further elaborates on your answer to help Quora users interested in that topic.
So it’s all about helping people with their problems, scratching their itch, and maybe if they want to know more, they’ll visit your website, too!
You scratch their back and they scratch yours!
That’s the law of reciprocation right there in action.
Post Your Stuff on Social Media
Another thing you can do to promote your website is by posting your content on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
Use social media to get the word out about your content fast, easy, and free.
What I do is I post content on my website, then I post the same content on LinkedIn and add a few paragraphs and add in a link that will take people back to my website.
You can also do it on Twitter.
Since there’s a limit of 240 characters on Twitter, I just put in a snippet of my post, an image to make it look nice and catchy, then people click on it and go to my website.
How quick and simple is that?!!
You can also post videos or written content on Facebook, and if it’s engaging enough, people will share it to their friends.
Then there’s Instagram and Pinterest, too!
So if you haven’t been doing social media yet, you better do it now. It’s a great way to get free traffic to your website!
Answer Questions on Forums and Link People to Your Website
There are TONS of forums on the internet.
You can find a forum on any topic with hundreds of discussions, threads, questions and answers going on each and every single day.
I would go on a forum relevant to my niche and check out the topic being talked about there, participate, and help people by answering their questions to the best of my ability.
I would also add in a link to my post after I answer their question, specifically in the signature section to give them more information they’re looking for.
“If you want to know more about this topic, here’s an article I have written that explains it further… (insert link)”
Simple as that!
But just be sure to always follow forum rules to save your butt from getting kicked out and banned by the moderator. You don’t want to get penalized for stepping on someone’s toes and going against the rules.
Be Of Service to Others as You Promote Your Website
To effectively promote your website, you shouldn’t be going around spreading links to your content all around even if people don’t even care.
Don’t ever do that kind of shit.
Not only will people ignore you when you give them unwarranted advice; they are also likely to block you or tell you to leave them alone forever.
So if you want to promote your website effectively and for free, the first thing you have to do is to have a heart that revolves around providing service to others.
Help them with their problems, answer their questions and give them advice.
Link them to a helpful and informative content you have written to further answer their concerns.
